Cal Blanton

Cal’s passion for supporting the students of this community stems from his experiences growing up in Quincy, California. His dream as a youth was to play collegiate athletics. This dream led to his eventual coaching career at Feather River College and his subsequent desire to help those with similar dreams of attending college. Leveraging his Associate's in Outdoor Education and his passion for being a steward of our natural resources, Cal continued his education at UC Santa Cruz, where he obtained a Bachelor's in Poltical Science, to round his knowledge of the inequities within government systems and the educational system students are navigating. Cal hopes to bridge the gap between high school and college for students who are often overlooked and underserved. As a person who struggled himself with postsecondary education, he views himself as relatable to students questioning what they should do after graduation. He hopes to use his experiences and first-hand knowledge of college and career exploration to assist students in identifying opportunities and understanding the steps required to achieve their dreams.
