After your student sends a transcript request to their other college, please write a letter to the ISP Office to confirm that we have received them.
With assistance from their coordinator, they may request a transcript order form. Our admissions and records department count the end of semester transcripts that are sent, towards the two (2) free allowable official transcript requests. Therefore, an additional request for official transcripts to be sent may include the $5.00 fee for processing. The ISP Office will do our best to cover the cost a two extra transcript requests.
A: Students will receive a Midterm Progress Report from their instructors after midterm exams are graded. Students may use the Office Hour form to ask for academic progress in a course at any point.
A: The student may send a correspondence to the ISP Office or the coordinator may contact the Office who will contact the instructor to determine if the grade issued is accurate. An instructor may request copies of the student’s course work. In this case, the coordinator should make copies of the assignments and the student should keep the originals. Copies should be sent to the Office in a single envelope with the student’s name, CDC number, site, FRC ID#, and the course name and semester.
A: The certificate of specialization will not print on student transcript …but don’t worry! The courses and grades are listed, and the student will receive a printed certificate separately from the ISP Office upon completion.
A: Once grades are posted, the Office prints out an official transcript. These are sent to the coordinators who should distribute these to students.
If a student has completed courses elsewhere and has sent transcripts to our Office, courses that apply to the degree they have chosen at FRC will be listed. If the student feels there is an error on the SEP, they should write to the ISP Office with the course they are looking for and it will be re-evaluated.
A: When possible, we encourage the student to use the library at your prison to find this information. If extra resources are needed, email the office, or advise the student to write to their instructor who then can email the office with extra resources for the student. We will then get it to you ASAP.
A: Advise the student to fill out an Office Hour form and put it in an envelope, attention ISP Office. The Office will follow up.
A: Sometimes mail gets bounced back without getting a grade on the homework. The student should write a note on the work and ask the coordinator to resend it. Once received by the Office receives it will forwarded to the instructor for grading.
A: DO NOT THROW IT AWAY! Students should keep their work until they receive their final grades and transcript record.
A: With the exception of math, if the instructor has indicated that the exams are to be closed book/note, then there are no exceptions. The course syllabus, assignment descriptions, and course policies are the guide. Please check if the student has qualified for any accommodations.
A: Most textbooks have an index where you can look up a related concept or title related to the assignment. If the student continues to struggle to find the required sections, please call/email the ISP Office for advice on the matter.
A: The moment a student knows they will be transferring, they should contact the education coordinator. The coordinator should let the ISP Office know where the student is going.
