After your student sends a transcript request to their other college, please write a letter to the ISP Office to confirm that we have received them.
With assistance from their coordinator, they may request a transcript order form. Our admissions and records department counts the end-of-semester transcripts sent towards the two (2) free allowable official transcript requests. Additional requests may include a $5.00 processing fee. The ISP Office will attempt to cover the cost of two extra transcript requests.
Students will receive a Midterm Progress Report from their instructors after midterm exams are graded. They may use the Office Hour form to ask for academic progress in a course at any point.
The student may send correspondence to the ISP Office, or the coordinator may contact the Office to verify the grade's accuracy with the instructor. If needed, instructors may request copies of the student’s coursework. The coordinator should send copies (not originals) to the Office with the student’s details included.
The certificate of specialization does not appear on transcripts. However, the courses and grades are listed, and students will receive a printed certificate separately from the ISP Office upon completion.
Once grades are posted, the Office prints an official transcript. These are sent to coordinators, who should distribute them to students.
If courses from other colleges are missing from the SEP, students should write to the ISP Office with the course details for re-evaluation.
We encourage students to use the prison library. If additional resources are needed, the student can write to their instructor or the ISP Office, which will provide the required materials as quickly as possible.
Advise the student to fill out an ISP Office Correspondence form and send it to the ISP Office. The Office will follow up.
If ungraded work is returned, the student should write a note on it and ask the coordinator to resend it. The Office will forward it to the instructor for grading.
Students should keep all returned, graded work until they receive their final grades and transcript record. DO NOT THROW IT AWAY!
Except for math, exams are closed book/note unless the instructor specifies otherwise. Please check the syllabus and confirm if the student qualifies for accommodations.
Students should use the textbook index to locate the relevant content. If they still cannot find it, contact the ISP Office for guidance.
The student should notify their education coordinator immediately. The coordinator will inform the ISP Office, and arrangements will be made at the new site if applicable. The student should contact their new coordinator upon arrival.
