Professional Development Resources
Welcome to Feather River College’s FRC 101! We are excited to introduce this new orientation and onboarding program, designed to bring together classified professionals, faculty, and managers for a series of engaging and comprehensive training sessions. FRC 101 aims to provide a smooth transition into our campus community while ensuring that every participant is equipped with the knowledge and resources needed for success. Whether you're new to Feather River or looking to enhance your skills, this program is your gateway to a positive and productive experience with us.
At Feather River College, Flex Week takes place each semester during the week prior to the start of classes. This dedicated time is designed to welcome employees back to campus and provide an opportunity for professional development. Throughout the week, a variety of workshops, communities of practice, and other engaging activities are offered to help staff and faculty prepare for the upcoming semester. In addition to Flex Week, Flex Days embedded throughout the semester also offer great training opportunities, allowing for continuous growth and collaboration. These events provide valuable chances to refresh skills, align on goals, and ensure a successful academic term ahead.

Feather River College is committed to providing professional development opportunities to its faculty and staff. Funds to support professional development originate from a number of different sources and therefore must align with efforts in those programs. The expected outcome(s) of the professional development activity should relate to student learning outcomes, guided pathways, increased student success and retention and/or improving student success measures for disproportionally impacted groups.
The purpose of this application is to ensure that funds are dispersed equitably across campus, that professional development opportunities align with funding sources, and that information is brought back to FRC departments and/or the campus community. The application outlines the process and expected outcomes for professional development.
