Monica Potter
EOPS Counselor, LPCC, CRC
Monica Potter comes from the San Joaquin Delta area where she worked as a college counselor (DSPS, EOPS, and Veterans), disability specialist through vocational rehabilitation, foster youth and grief counselor, assessment and accommodation of learning disabilities, and counseled in conditional release programs for the forensically mentally ill in the state hospital system. She has counseled a diverse range of adults of all abilities and backgrounds. She is a current Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist and has been a member of the Red Cross Disaster Mental Health team addressing the effects of disasters and pathways to healing. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor she takes a humanistic approach to mental health, which explores the student’s individual, interpersonal, and cultural strengths to increase insight into challenges that they may face. She has experience working with a wide range of concerns related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, eating disorders and life transitions. She believes in the resilience of all her students and aims to work collaboratively with then to identify and access their own strengths as they reach their academic and personal goals.
