Feather River College Business Program

Business Program

The Business Program provides a general and practical foundation for a wide range of career opportunities in business. It also provides a course of study that prepares students for transfer to a four-year college or university. The curriculum is designed to help students develop business knowledge and managerial skills beneficial to them and meaningful to employers. The curriculum of introductory courses covers all of the major areas in business study.

AS Transfer Degree

This degree allows the student to transfer directly to a CSU  in the discipline of Business Administration. In the Business Programs students are instructed in many of the disciplines of Business study that are valued by employers, that prepare the students to become an entrepreneur, or that prepare a student to go on to a four-year institution. The textbooks used are nationally renowned for positive student learning outcomes and are typically the most widely-used textbooks in their field. A variety of teaching methods are used both auditory and visual, and technology is relied upon heavily in every area.

Business Certificates

Certificates provide evidence of completion of Business classes in specific areas of business. They signify a level of completion and achievement below the AA and AST Degrees but are extremely useful to the student for employment and as a validation of different areas of study within the Business Discipline.

Instructor- Dr. Joseph K.Clottey

Dr.Joseph K.Clottey is the program coordinator and an instructor for the Business Program at Feather River College. He is a native New Yorker, born in the city of Manhattan. He lived in Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens , Long Island, NY as well as Upstate, NY. He has also lived in Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina , Florida and now he resides in Quincy, CA. Dr. Clottey also spent eleven years in Ghana, West Africa. He holds an associate in applied science degree in Paralegal Studies from Nassau Community College. A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Management from Liberty University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from Colorado Technical University as well as a Doctorate Degree in Management (DM) with a concentration in Executive Leadership (Colorado Technical University).

He has previously worked in retail sales management for over 12 years with various companies. He was also previously in the financial industry for over 22 years, in roles like compliance, agency trader and a Wealth Manager/Financial Advisor. He has been a Professor for the School of Business for over 4 years teaching both undergraduate and graduate on-campus as well as online.
