Annual Studio Art Field Trips
The FRC Studio Arts program has created an annual tradition of bringing ~20 students to San Francisco to see world class museums and art galleries, as well as events and exhibitions. As a geographically isolated campus, FRC Studio Arts students do not have access to the kinds of art and architecture that a big city like San Francisco can provide. We believe it is critical that our students see the art world in a larger context, experience first-hand the subjects they study and immerse themselves in diverse cultural expression.
This annual trip happens every year in April over two days and is open to all Studio Arts students at FRC. Through generous FRC Foundation grants, as well as SF MoMA and DeYoung museum donations, participating students are able to make this trip at no cost. This is crucial for our mission to serve ALL students, regardless of economic standing. For many of our students, born and raised in Plumas County, this is a first on many levels and a world-expanding experience.
