Gold Complex fire burning in Eastern Plumas County

Please be aware of the current active wildfires burning in the Eastern part of Plumas County. Evacuation orders and warnings, as well as road closures, have been issued in areas with an imminent threat.

If you are traveling to FRC from out of the area, please be advised of potential road closures. You can view current road conditions on the Caltrans website: QuickMap.dot.ca.gov

Should the fire impact college operations, we will follow orders of the Plumas County Sherriff’s Office and a message will be sent through Regroup, the College’s emergency notification system. FIRE INFO

Multiple engines, firefighting crews, dozers and aircraft are fighting the fires with more resources on order, including from Cal Fire and other agencies.

Plumas County Sheriff is responsible for evacuations and is sharing information on their Facebook page at facebook.com/plumascountysheriff

Plumas County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been activated.  An evacuation shelter is open at Quincy High School. Animals can be evacuated to the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in East Quincy.

Residents in the affected communities are asked to help by being aware, complying with evacuation orders and allowing firefighters to focus on fire suppression and community protection.
