Are you interested in attending Feather River College? Check us out during our 1st annual open house event, “Friday in the Fall,” on October 4th with events all day Saturday, too!
Friday, October 4
We will kick Friday off with a BBQ lunch at the Eagles Perch Café on campus. The BBQ starts at noon, prospective students are FREE, all others are $5 and it’s worth it! Chef Mike makes a great plate! Throughout the afternoon you will have the opportunity to speak with faculty and student services staff, observe an Equine class at the arena, take a hike with our Outdoor Recreation Leadership Department, and tour the campus and dorms. We will wrap up around 4:00 PM, just in time to see the the FRC men’s soccer team, who is consistently ranked among the top 20 in nation, face Butte College. Entertainment for the night does not end there! Head over to the Plumas County Fairgrounds to check out the Feather River College Rodeo; the broncs start buckin’ at 5:30! Stick around afterwards for the rodeo dance featuring live music by Chad Bushnell, starting at 7:30.
Saturday, October 5
If you can’t make it Friday, no problem! We will offer another tour, hike, and visit to an Equine class Saturday morning, beginning at 10:00 AM. Afterwards, lunch, from one of our favorite local pizza parlors, will be on us! There will be several events going on both on-campus and in the community all afternoon. Our nationally-ranked rodeo team will keep the action going for a second day, starting at 2:00 PM. At 5:00 PM, our football team will take on Shasta College for the Homecoming game.
While you are in town, be sure to visit historic downtown Quincy, (voted one of the coolest small towns on the west in 2012) to check out the local shops and fabulous restaurants, or just relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain setting.
Attending Friday in the Fall is great way to experience student life and learn more about the “Mountain of Opportunities” available at Feather River College!
The first 10 prospective students to sign up will win a free bag of swag!
