FRCMeradasLightning, affectionately known as "April” at the barn is a 3-year-old AQHA mare standing at 14.2hh. This mare is a diamond in the rough, with her striking appearance, athleticism, and uniquely diverse pedigree. Her sire, SDP Boy Named Sue has produced money earners and comes from an extremely successful line of horses in the barrel and cutting horse industry. On her maternal side, her great grand sire is White Lighting Ike, who is the famous sire of so many successful roping, rodeo, and cow horse. April comes from a long line of extreme athletes, and personally she demonstrates a sweet disposition, trainability, and level-headedness to her.

A little bit about the student...
Sheyanne Houck is from Oroville, California. She came to FRC in the Fall of 2022 and will graduate with her Bachelor's degree in Equine and Ranch management in the Fall of 2026. Sheyanne has a passion for training young horses, and her future career goals include working under a successful training facility in the reining or cowhorse industry with the hopes of managing her own. Sheyenne’s best memory at FRC was being a part of the collegiate colt starting team! She says, "FRC's equine classes have helped me grow tremendously as a horsewoman."
